FREQUENTLY
ASKED
QUESTIONS

We answer your most common questions.

Is the Backpack Pro 16 waterproof?

No. The Backpack Pro 16 is not waterproof; the shell is 600D recycled polyester (RPET) over a rigid molded EVA face with YKK zippers. It is built for run commuting and daily commute use where stability and a hardshell form factor matter more than full waterproofing. For heavy weather, the Kilometer Studios Rain Cover is available as a separate accessory that slips over the pack for added rain protection.

What laptop size fits the Backpack Pro 16?

The Backpack Pro 16 fits up to a 16-inch laptop in a dedicated internal sleeve measuring 25.5 cm wide by 38 cm tall. The sleeve sits flat against the rigid EVA back panel, not in a dangling external pocket, so the laptop stays centered and the pack does not shift or bounce at pace.

Does the Backpack Pro 16 bounce when running?

No. The Backpack Pro 16 uses a running-vest harness with a sliding sternum strap, load lifters, and a built-in waist belt to lock the pack against the back at pace. The rigid molded EVA body holds its shape loaded or empty so the load stays centered, and the 16-inch laptop sleeve sits close to the back to keep the weight stable.

Is the Backpack Pro 16 suitable for office use?

Yes. The Backpack Pro 16 has a hardshell molded EVA front face with a tone-on-tone debossed Kilometer Studios logo, no visible text branding, and the rigid body sits clean and flat under a desk. The 14-liter capacity holds a 16-inch laptop, change of clothes, lunch, and daily essentials for a run-to-work commute.

Is the Backpack Pro 16 MOLLE-compatible?

Yes. The Backpack Pro 16 has MOLLE webbing on the exterior and daisy chain webbing loops running the length of both shoulder straps. Externally it accepts: Space Bag (+9 L expansion), Waist Pocket Belt, Minimal Belt, MOLLE Strap System, the Large cube of the Packing Cubes Set, Carabiners, and Reflective Strings. The Packing Organizers Set and Quick-dry Towel are also compatible but live inside the main compartment. The Garment Bag is NOT compatible with the Backpack Pro 16; for office garment carry pair the Garment Bag with a rolltop backpack instead.

What makes Kilometer backpacks different from other brands?

Kilometer backpacks are designed specifically for run-commuters. Every bag features a modular system that lets you customize your setup with accessories, and our materials are chosen to handle sweat, rain, and daily abuse while still looking sharp at the office.

Can I add accessories to any Kilometer backpack?

Most of our backpacks use a MOLLE-compatible attachment system. Accessories like the Space Bag, Waist Pocket Belt, and Bottle Holder work across the MOLLE-equipped lineup (Spin Bag 30L, Spin Bag 18L, Everyday Rolltop, Pannier Rolltop, and Backpack Pro 16). The Trail Pack and Packable Rolltop are minimalist designs without MOLLE.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy on all unused products in original packaging. Custom kit bundles can be returned as a complete set. Shipping costs for returns are covered by the customer.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Kilometer Studios ships worldwide. International orders are accepted from every country our logistics partners can reach; shipping costs and delivery times vary by destination and are calculated at checkout.

I absolutely love this backpack - I've been run commuting for years, and this has been a game changer

I absolutely love this backpack - I've been run commuting for years, and this has been a game changer -- I've recommended it to several colleagues and have convinced several to run commute, and I'm now buying my second backpack after the zipper on the first one broke (after 4 years of daily run commuting)...I can fit my laptop, my tablet, a day's worth of clothes, and conveniently have my phone, headphones and work ID in the hip belt. An amazing product - would highly recommend!

Confortable for run or bike commuting. Great quality

Could not recommend enough.

Could not recommend enough. Only comment is that it’s tough to fit a full winter’s day set of clothes and a pair of shoes in at the same time, but that’s to be expected I suppose.

the updated version seems to be an improvement.

I have been using the first version of this backpack for some 5 years now and have always been happy with it. The weak straps on the back were never used, so the updated version seems to be an improvement. Used the rain cover from time to time. Plenty of room for my 13inch computer, power supply cables and more.

ALMOST ZERO BOUNCE! 9.8/10

I had a bit of a struggle to understand how to tighten the pack correctly to my back but after giving it a look it wasn’t hard to understand where the pack should sit and adjust accordingly! Haven’t achieved ZERO bounce yet but I sit really well, despite me packing it to its max with computer and clothes. Only thing stopping it from being a solid 10/10 is me not achieving that zero bounce but I think that’s just some final adjustments on my end.

The Bag for the Running Addict

Living in a SoCal suburb and working remotely from home, this isn't a bag I really needed but, several times per year, I go on long business trips to Asia and Europe where I have to walk for several miles at times to get to certain destinations and I thought, "It'd be better if I could run than walk, but I need a bag that doesn't bounce around when I run." Being a running addict, a work colleague of mine who lives in Sweden and is an avid cyclist introduced me to this company that makes such a bag. I decided to give it a try even though I'd really only use it on these international trips where I need to get around on foot a lot. Well, after a month-long trip to Asia with stops in cities such as Shanghai and Seoul where it's all about getting around on foot (commutes on subways included), I can say that the bag handled the jogs and some uptempo segments very well with a laptop or some other stuff in it. It took a little while to get the fit just right for my small frame, but I eventually dialed in the fit and the bag stayed in place throughout my runs. I will now pack this bag for all my overseas trips as it can carry all the things I need for business as well as for personal errands to carry things in it instead of carrying a bag in hand. Looks very cool and I really like having the pouches on the front to carry little things that also straps around the waist for a secure fit. This is a very well thought-out product and I wish the office was about 3~5 miles away instead of 25 so I could run-commute every now and then. For a running addict like me, it's a very nice thing to have for those places and times when you wish you could run but is hard to do with stuff to carry. Very happy with it and highly recommended for other avid runners.

Perfect Commuter Companion

I’ve been using the Backpack Pro 16″ from IAMRUNBOX for my daily commutes, and it’s been fantastic. The fit is comfortable, and it feels great even on longer trips. It easily holds my clothes and laptop, making it perfect for work. I also love the front belt with pockets for my phone and other essentials – super convenient! Overall, it’s a well-designed, functional, and stylish backpack that I highly recommend.

Run-commute specific

This backpack is probably the most compact one that can house a 16 inch Macbook Pro. A change of clothes and maybe some other office necessities like coffee thermos and a notepad will fit, but not much more. I don't think it is possible to squeeze shoes in here, however it closes like a hard shell suitcase, so I might be wrong. Capacity and the way how it closes make it very run-commute specific. And this is why I must underline: running with ~5 kg backpack is VERY HARD! I tried run commuting twice per week 10-11 km to and from on my easy days and that really undermined my recovery. For reference, I've been training at 120-160 km per week for over 6 years, so that wasn't a sudden jump in volume. Now I catch a train to reduce the back leg to just ~4 km and it is way more manageable. So please think twice about the distance you're ready to cover with such a load. The chest strap does slide up as other reviewer noticed, but that's just a nuisance, like a buzzing fly, easy to let go of. The backpack is quite handsome and gets compliments from co-workers and random passers by. Oh, one other thing I have to note: I'm a very sweaty runner, so hip belt pockets become soaked through midway through the run as soon as dew point hits 15C, and the bottom part of the main compartment also gets a little damp – hard to notice, but if you put a paper book in there, you're up for an unpleasant surprise. However my sweating is well above normal so that wouldn't probably be a thing for most users.
